Authorities probe infant's fatal incident in Northwest Albuquerque

In the quiet neighbourhood of Briar Ridge NW, Albuquerque, New Mexico, the Albuquerque Police Department (APD) responded to a distressing incident on Saturday morning at around 8:30 a.m. A 1-month-old infant was found unresponsive at a local residence.

Upon arrival, first responders attempted life-saving measures, but tragically, the infant passed away at the scene. The APD spokesperson, Gilbert Gallegos, confirmed that as of Monday afternoon, no charges have been filed in this unfortunate event.

The Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) conducted an autopsy on the infant, but a cause of death has yet to be determined. Additional tests will be carried out by the OMI to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the infant's death. The exact time and date of the autopsy remain undisclosed.

The ongoing investigation has not revealed any further details about the identity of the infant or the family involved. The APD and OMI are currently silent on who will conduct additional investigations related to the case.
